Benevilla, a family services nonprofit, will provide free holiday meals this year to those who lack access or means to prepare a nutritious dinner or may be alone. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no dine-in meals this year. Instead, these freshly prepared dinners will be available for pickup at Birt’s Bistro on the Benevilla campus. The complimentary meals are available by RSVP to 623-584-4999. Meals are limited.

A Christmas Day meal will be available for pickup on Thursday, December 24 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. We understand the holidays can be a stressful time and Benevilla and Birt’s Bistro want to make spirits brighter this holiday season, according to the nonprofit.

The traditional turkey dinners, all the trimmings, and pumpkin pie will be served by volunteers and staff at Birt’s Bistro located on the Hellen & John M. Jacobs Independence Plaza at 16752 N. Greasewood Street in Surprise.

“It is always a great feeling to help serve our community in need, especially during the holidays and the challenging pandemic we are in,” says Joanne Thomson, Benevilla president and CEO. “Every year it warms our hearts seeing the difference we are making in the lives of others.”

Started by the community and for the community in 1981, Benevilla is a not-for-profit family services agency dedicated to enriching the lives of West Valley residents by providing care services for older adults, adults with disabilities, children, and families.
