Mountain Ridge High School in the Deer Valley Unified School District, Hepner Communications, and HopeKids Arizona will give an amazing surprise to a MRHS special needs student, Zach Lasley. Zach will receive the surprise of a lifetime. His favorite Monster Truck will be on campus and he will be presented Monster Jam tickets in front of his peers.

Here is what Zach’s mom, Lori, had to say about the surprise and the event itself.

This was such a gift and a blessing! The Menace driver, Darrin, was so incredible with him. We just can’t thank him enough. Zach had a wonderful experience from the surprise itself to the event. He was even able to invite other special needs friends to join him thanks to the number of tickets in the suite.

Zach looks very intimidating but those who take the time to get to know him learn quickly what a cool and inspiring teen he is. I am grateful for each and every day I have with him, especially if he is flashing that smile.

As for the day of the event, unfortunately the drivers didn’t end up being able to do all they had planned due to time limitations, but he and his friends and family thoroughly enjoyed the suite and the pit passes. Zach not only got to see all the trucks and drivers up close but he got to do a small jump with his wheelchair!”

About Zach: Zach was born at 23 weeks. He has Athetoid Cerebral Palsy. He has involuntary movement and also many other issues, including Chronic Respiratory Disease. He has been in decline since a 40-day hospital stay in 2013 where he lost a quarter of his body weight.

Zach’s smile and beautiful eyes light the world! His smile literally keeps me going. He is extremely social and a total flirt. He loves the ladies,” Lori Lashley (Mom).
