Hi, my name is… Lori Vraney.
My company & title is…. Families in Bloom LLC, I am a registered nurse, certified childbirth educator and certified CPR instructor, and the founder of Families in Bloom LLC. I offer childbirth, infant care, breastfeeding, and CPR classes to expectant parents in our community.
A typical day in my life includes… Taking our dog for her morning walk with my husband, enjoying a Diet Pepsi while checking emails for work, receiving and sending fun snapchats with my granddaughter, scheduling expectant parents for their childbirth and parenting classes, preparing expectant parents for their amazing journey into parenthood in the evening, and reading before I go to bed.
My favorite thing about living/working in the Peoria area is…the wonderful weather and amazing community.
My favorite movie I could never get tired of watching and why…”Date Night.” It makes me laugh! It never gets old.
My family… is my greatest blessing!
The business lesson I learned the hard way is… everyone is expendable, especially after 18.5 years of dedication to a particular company. So follow your dreams and take that first step. You can do anything you put your mind to.
One thing I cannot live without is… my family! I love our family get-togethers, they are full of fun and laughs.
When I was younger, I wanted to be… a “baby nurse,” which I am. I have cared for newborns since I graduated from college (which was a very long time ago!).
The song I would sing at karaoke night is… I have never done karaoke and I don’t think you would want me to! But if I had to choose a song it would be “Staying Alive,” as that’s the song you can do CPR to.
The people who motivates me are… my family. I can’t choose just one. They are very supportive and encouraging.
The last thing that made me laugh out loud was… an April Fool’s prank by my daughter. It was a link to a prank stating that they would no longer be selling alcohol during this time of social distancing. I was like seriously? No more margaritas? And it was just a silly April Fool’s prank.
The perfect day would be… the day our whole family can be together after this quarantine. I can’t wait to have all of my kids and grandkids together again.
My first job was… a ride operator at Santa’s Village amusement park. It’s where I met my husband, we were both ride operators and use to dance by the Merry Go Round! Just a couple of silly teenagers.
My life… is blessed! I have a beautiful family, wonderful grandchildren, a job I love and some amazing friends.
I’m currently working on… growing my business and my kickboxing skills. My daughter got me hooked on kickboxing. It is so much fun.
The best gift I’ve ever received was… my 4 children and 5 grandchildren. I have 2 daughters and 2 sons, and 3 granddaughters and 2 grandsons.
The actor I would want to play me in a movie of my life is… a combination of Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. Sandra Bullock for the more serious and dry humor side, and Melissa McCarthy for the crazy, silly side.
My dream vacation would be to… stay in a private bungalow off the ocean on a beautiful island.
