My company & title is….

Rick Bronson’s – House of Comedy. I’m the Rick Bronson in Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy. (I know – a tad narcissistic).

A typical day in my life includes…

A whole bunch of laughter!

My favorite thing about living/working in the Desert Ridge area is…

High Street! I just love this development. From its ease of navigation to the eclectic mix of retail and hospitality tenants. Plus – that is where the House of Comedy is located.

My favorite movie I could never get tired of watching and why…

I can watch Back to the Future over and over again. Loved Michael J. Fox’s incredible comedic timing as the young Marty McFly. I also appreciate the subtle nuances you pick up by rewatching the film again and again. That said, when studying screen writing we had to dissect Casablanca over and over again. I still have an affinity for that flick. It really holds up.

My family…

Does not think I’m funny…. tough crowd! But in all honesty, they are the driving force behind everything I do. Without them there is no reason.

The business lesson I learned the hard way is…

You can’t do everything yourself. Don’t micro-manage. Surround yourself with good people who share your passions.

One thing I cannot live without…

My technology. Love me my Apple toys!

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

A baseball player. Turns out 5’10” Jewish accountant looking chubby guys don’t make it to the show that often. What are you gonna do?

The song I would sing at Karaoke night is…

Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen. Oh and I nail it baby!

The one person who motivates me is…

Well now I’m going to sound like a stalker, but Bruce Springsteen – The Boss, has always motivated me. From his music to his continued work ethic. Choosing not to rely solely on what he’s already accomplished, but how he continues to grow as an artist even at this late stage of the game. Never mind the fact that this guy gives it 150% every time he hits the stage! Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuce!

The last thing that made me laugh out loud was…

I’m surrounded by the best stand-up comics on the planet on a daily basis. You’re probably better off asking me “When don’t I laugh out loud?”

All the time! I consider myself very lucky that laughter and humor is the backbone of my day.

The perfect day would be…

Playing 36 holes of golf… going low…then getting on stage at The House of Comedy.

My first job was…

I never had a real job. I started doing magic at the age of 12, Stand Up at 15, TV in my 20’s and never looked back.

I’m currently working on…

A new TV series called The Comic Strip. It is a documentary series that lifts the Oz-like curtain on the world of Comedy Clubs. We’re giving viewers an in-depth, behind the scenes, inside look at the Business of Comedy. I’m excited about this project and we’re really proud of our pilot episode.

The best gift I’ve ever received was…

Given to me by my wife Tammy. My two boys… Noah (age 21) and Tanner (age 13). Even though they are Millennials – I love them both.

The actor I would want to play me in a movie of my life is…

Well if we’re going just on who looks the most like me… it’s either George Clooney or Brad Pitt.

Ok let’s get real…Steve Buscemi.

My dream vacation would be to…

Eat my way through Europe. My family and I love traveling almost as much as we love eating. A vacation that features the two of those items is our ideal trip.

My words of wisdom to aspiring business owners…

Not so much words of wisdom but a frequent toast used by my late grandfather Zaidie Al… “May you live as long as you want, but never want as long as you live.”
