North Valley Christian Academy announced today key personnel appointments to the Leadership Team in preparation for the new campus opening scheduled for August 16, 2017. NVCA will open its new 72,000 square foot campus located at 33655 N. 27th Drive, Phoenix offering an expanded curriculum of liberal and performing arts, STEM, and athletic programs.  Nate Kretzmann, Executive Director, expressed excitement around the growing team of professionals committed to God’s call of providing Christ-centered education with a high academic standard.  Kretzmann stated….’we are blessed to attract such talented and experienced individuals who are leaders in their disciplines and are committed to developing global ready Christian leaders’.

The 21st Century designed campus, moving from Anthem to Tramonto, will provide a Christ-centered liberal arts education for 600+ students, grades Pre-K through 12. With the addition of high school, the new school will offer an expanded curriculum in a blended, project based learning environment.  Enabled with a strong technology platform, students will have increased flexibility in learning while benefiting from a full range of athletic programs, performing arts, and STEM classes.

Alicia Roberts
For the past 20+ years, Alicia has taught science, math, engineering and design.  She most recently created and developed the Foothills Academy STEAM labs at both the elementary and MS/HS campuses that provide students an environment where solutions to real world problems can be explored through hands on learning and design challenges. Alicia is passionate that this experience promotes …’creativity, collaboration, critical analysis and communication.’ In addition, Alicia speaks nationally and teaches workshops to promote STEAM Integration and Design into the K-12 curriculum for Grand Canyon University. Alicia holds a Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary’s College of CA and a Master of Arts Instructional Technology from University of Phoenix.
Kacey Johnson
Kacey has 11 years of teaching and athletic coaching experience. Mrs. Johnson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology of Youth and Adolescents from The University of Northern Colorado. Her graduate studies took place  at Regis University, where she earned her Master of Secondary Education, as a Program Scholar with distinction. During and after her graduate studies, Mrs. Johnson worked as a licensed educator and coach at the K-12 level in both public and private institutions. Mrs. Johnson has developed strong middle school and high school athletic programs with her extensive background in coaching and training programs. She is a member of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.

John Kennedy
John’s diverse experience in leadership, construction and the development industry over the last 30 years will be a tremendous asset to North Valley Christian Academy.   John spent a majority of his career working in the public market sector with an emphasis in K-12 Schools, along with Higher Education, Health Care, and Federal projects

(Department of Defense, Department of Justice and General Services Administration). His experience also includes specialty projects such as museums, convention centers, performing arts venues, and airports.

Starting in the U.S. Marine Corps, John worked for mechanical contractors, construction managers and served as a partner in companies focused on construction management and development work.  John understands all aspects of K-12 facilities including development/construction as well as operations and maintenance utilizing a lifecycle predictive approach.
