Staycation destination provides a howling good time with several Pointes of interest –
The heat is on and travel prices are on the rise. With limited vacation time, planning the perfect getaway can turn into a challenging experience.  Instead of spending a lot of money and time making elaborate travel arrangements, considering keeping close to home for a much-needed “staycation.”
The perfect staycation is a wonderful way to take a day off both mentally and physically.  The Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort ensures a  break free of tedious routines and can reset one’s central processing unit—no paperwork, no housework, no commute, no clocking in.    The Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort is conveniently located, close to the downtown Phoenix and Biltmore areas for temporary tourists who live in the neighborhood or a few miles away; with the array of options the resort has to offer, there is no need to travel further.
The Hole-in- the-Wall River Ranch has four acres to explore that includes pools, waterfalls and a waterslide, miniature golf and, for the less actively inclined, a signature lazy river.

Have kids?  Perfect. They won’t want to miss out on the ongoing games and contests, such as the Serpentine Slide Race or a treasure hunt around the pool. Other options include the Coyote Camp where children ages 5 to 12 can participate in “Hands on Science” and “Cooking with the Chef” classes inside the 1,500 square-foot facility especially designed for children.

Local high school teacher, Katie Fizz,  loves to bring her three children to the resort for a day option.  Whether it be Coyote Camp or the Hole-in-the-Wall River Ranch the kids will be howling to return.   “A friend of mine, Michelle, came into town last weekend and stayed with her family at the resort.   Her kids and mine played all day poolside entering contests, slip-sliding and putting on the mini-golf course while we relaxed on the Lazy River,” Ms. Fizz shared.
Whether close-to-home or traveling afar, the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort is now inviting you to stay at the resort for as low as $109 per suite, per night.  “Their summer specials made it an easy, breezy, affordable day for all of us,” Ms. Fizz said.   “Some days I enroll my kids to learn and play in the Coyote Camp just for fun.”

Themes of Coyote Camp include “Desert Friends” and “Arizona Day.”  Each day is different. “My kids love going to the Coyote Camp and I like taking them.  Each time they have been they come home with different stories and crafts to show off.”   Every activity is geared towards educating the children on Arizona’s colorful Western folklore, geography and culture.  Hands on learning may include gold panning, arrowhead hunting and desert themed craft projects.
Those truly committed to relaxation will turn down the volume on the ring-tone, set up an automatic “out-of- office” email reply, and vow to catch up on a favorite television series. The Pointe provides the ideal environment for relaxation; choose from an ample one-room suite or a one- or two-bedroom casita.
On-site dining at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort is exceptional and varied. Hole-in- the-Wall is known for its savory Old West charm while Rico’s American Grill specializes in the flavors of the desert. Refreshments at Slim Picken’s fast bites accommodates those loathe to abandon the cool of the pool.
