The PVSchools Governing Board re-elected Anne Greenberg as its president at a recent meeting. She was first elected to the Governing Board in 2004 for the term beginning in 2005 and is currently serving her fifth term. Reorganization of the Governing Board occurs once a year.

Greenberg earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University. She is co-owner and executive vice president of Health & Medical Multimedia, a medical communications firm, as well as a strategic planning consultant.

A founding and current member of the district’s Community Legislative Network, Greenberg has served on numerous district, school and United Parent Council committees. Formerly a member of the state board of the Arizona Academic Decathlon Association, she has chaired and continues to serve on the Legislative Committee for the Arizona School Boards Association, which honored her with an All-Arizona School Board award in 2011.

Previously, she was the president of Women in Communications, a national organization for professionals in all communications disciplines. She and her husband, Rick McGuire, have two sons who graduated from Paradise Valley schools.

Greenberg is the presiding governing board president for calendar year 2021. Her overall governing board term will run through December 2024. The PVSchools Governing Board consists of five members that are elected for staggered, four-year terms. They serve without compensation. The board sets policy for the management of the district, and the superintendent and cabinet are responsible for the execution of these policies.

Board meetings are open to the public. Regular meetings are typically held on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7 p.m. They are currently virtual due to COVID-19. Study sessions are held as needed for the purpose of studying one or more specific issues in depth. No action is taken during a study session. For meetings held virtually, members of the public may join the meeting via YouTube. Meeting information is noted on the PVSchools website.
