Block Watch Meeting
Attend the Block Watch Meeting for the communities of Mountain Estates, Paradise Gardens, Mountain Preserve, and Heritage Heights on Wed., March 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Held at the Heritage Heights Clubhouse, 3030 E. Mission Lane #8, speakers include Councilwoman Debra Stark with community updates; the Desert Horizon Police Precinct, to discuss the neighborhood homeless issue; and city of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture and artist Bobby Zokaites to discuss the North 32nd Art Project. Hot dogs, chips, cookies, and bottled water will be served from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Shred-a-Thon to Benefit Local BSA Troop 3226
Support your neighborhood Boy Scouts of America Troop 3226 for their first Shred-a-Thon on Sat., March 4 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to help scouts fund summer camp, leadership training, rank advancement, community service projects, campouts, outings, and more.

Clean out your file cabinets and closets once and for all and bring your old documents for secure and confidential shredding, with requested donations of $5 per banker box. This Shred-A-Thon features cutting-edge technology that allows you to watch via video surveillance while your old documents get securely shredded onsite in real time! The event is at American Legion Pat Tillman Post 117, 3230 E. Thunderbird Rd. Look for the big truck with the American Flag on the side of it! Spring into Wellness
The 3rd Annual Spring Into Wellness Walk & Health Fair is on March 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Benefiting Mission of Mercy Arizona, it features a 1-mile family fun run/walk, in addition to exercise activities with Restorative Fitness and a health fair. There will be music by The Pulse 88.7 FM, bounce houses, face painting, balloon art, games, and a raffle with great prizes (all included with admission)! MOM will have its mobile medical RV on site for tours and the Phoenix Suns gorilla will also stop by. This all-inclusive event costs $20 for those 13 and older; free for 12 and younger.
