This April 13, from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., the Anthem Community Council, in collaboration with Republic Services, ProShred, MCSO, and other key community partners, invites Anthem residents to the annual community Go Green event designed to support the area’s recycling and donation efforts. Hosted in the Community Park’s lower parking lot at 41703 N. Gavilan Peak Pkwy., this initiative illustrates a commitment to environmental stewardship.

Offering a comprehensive range of recycling and disposal services, the event is a call to action for residents to partake in responsible decluttering just in time for spring. From electronics recycling to personal document shredding, bulk cardboard, paint disposal, and much more, the event caters to a wide array of items, ensuring that valuable resources are reused, repurposed, or safely disposed of.

Key services include:
• Secure Document Shredding by ProShred: Residents can bring up to five banker-sized boxes of documents for secure shredding, ensuring personal information is protected while contributing to recycling efforts.
• Electronics Recycling with Westech Recyclers: A perfect opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted electronic items, from PCs and monitors to telephones and audio/visual equipment.
• Medication Disposal with MCSO: Ensuring safe disposal of prescription and non-prescription drugs, though it’s important to note that medical sharps will not be accepted.
• Donation Drive with St. Vincent de Paul: Participants can donate a variety of items, including non-perishable food, new undergarments, gently used toys, and more, supporting those in need within the community.
• Paint and Household Hazardous Waste Collection by Safety Kleen: A chance to responsibly dispose of paint and other hazardous household items, with a limit of eight gallon containers per car.
• Battery and Bulb Recycling by Lighting Resources LLC: Including a wide range of bulbs and batteries, ensuring hazardous materials are not sent to landfills.
• Bulk Cardboard Recycling: Encouraging residents to break down and recycle large cardboard items to help reduce waste.

The event is exclusive to Anthem residents, with proof of residency required. It’s important to arrive no later than 10:45 a.m. to participate, entering the lower lot from Freedom Way to Whitman Drive and exiting onto Gavilan Peak Parkway. Restrictions apply to the types of vehicles allowed to ensure a smooth and safe event for everyone involved.
