Arizona’s much-loved family-owned restaurant chain Barro’s Pizza and global beverage giant Pepsi are set to combine their strengths for the eighth consecutive year in an inspiring fundraising campaign. Their target? Aiding the Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children (ACFC) and the invaluable work it performs for families impacted by pediatric cancer.

Throughout the entire month of June, all Barro’s Pizza locations across Arizona will devote a portion of their proceeds, aiming to raise up to $40,000, from the sale of any lunch special to support ACFC’s mission.

With a tempting range of lunch specials to choose from, customers can enjoy a satisfying meal while contributing to a noble cause. Operating hours for this initiative may vary by location.

“We look forward to this fundraiser every year,” says Ken Barro, co-owner of Barro’s Pizza. “Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children has been instrumental in helping so many Arizona families during a very trying time. Thanks to our loyal customers, we’ve raised more than $221,000 to date and are excited to support them again this year.”

Established in 2013, ACFC was born out of the heart-wrenching experience of Chrisie Funari, who lost her young daughter, Ava, to cancer. Funari channeled her pain and the struggles of navigating Ava’s treatment into a mission to empower families in similar situations.

ACFC ensures these families have access to necessary medical treatments, secure housing, and continual support. The foundation’s efforts have since assisted hundreds of local families and remain committed to expanding this reach.

“We are so grateful for Barro’s Pizza’s continued support,” says Funari president and founder of ACFC. “Their contribution has had a significant impact on our ability to provide critical services and support to children and their families affected by cancer. We can’t thank them enough for their commitment to our cause and for making a difference in the lives of those who need it most. We are proud to have partners like Barro’s Pizza in our community.”

Barro’s Pizza, a beacon of local enterprise and tradition, is known far and wide for its unique pizza recipe. Passed down from Grandma Angelina Barro, who migrated from Italy in the 1930s, the pizza boasts a thick crust, tangy, and sweet spiced sauce that has won over many a palate. The restaurant chain operates 47 locations in Maricopa, Pima, and Pinal Counties, and one in McKinney, Texas. In addition to their signature pizzas, the menu includes wings, salads, sandwiches, pasta, gluten-free options, desserts, and a variety of beverages. They also cater to different dining preferences with dine-in, take-out, delivery, online ordering, in-app ordering, and catering services.
