Buck & Rider, known for its commitment to flying in fresh seafood seven days a week from around the world, proudly debuted its highly anticipated second location on the southeast corner of Scottsdale and Mayo at The Shops at Chauncey Ranch, located at 7015 E. Mayo Blvd. Doors officially opened to the public in mid-December, beginning with daily happy hour and dinner service to start and brunch and lunch menu offerings rolled out mid-January.

The 10,000-square-foot restaurant is inspired by the old seafood canaries on the west and east coasts and is nearly two times the size of the original location. Designed by Phoenix’s renowned restaurant architect, Cathy Hayes, diners are instantly transported to the coast while enjoying the addition of three private dining rooms for life’s greatest celebrations, a 10-seat sushi bar, two patios that bridge the indoor and outdoor connection – one for dining located in the front, and one located in the back featuring two fire pits, perfect for lounging with friends, family, and colleagues. The building’s architectural design is grand and timeless, holding up to 450 guests between the exterior patios and warm and intimate interior dining rooms. The wildly popular raw bar is also time-stamped and continuously updated to reflect the best fish and oyster selection flown in from around the world.

“We could not wait to bring the nostalgic Buck & Rider coastal dining experience to the backyard of all of our continued loyalists in North Scottsdale, who have been driving across town to see us at the Camelback location for years,” says Buck & Rider CEO Adam Strecker. “As we look to the next era of growth and strategically unveil every new Buck & Rider in the most thoughtful locations, each will showcase an individual identifying look and inspiration, while equally maintaining our commitment to flying in the freshest seafood from around the world every single day, our impeccable service, hospitality and menu selections Buck & Rider has become known for.”

As a focal point in the restaurant, diners can watch their favorite Buck & Rider signature dishes being prepared in the completely open chef’s kitchen and look out for their favorite daily market catch and thoughtfully sourced seafood to be featured on the rotating split flat board.

Guests can also count on the iconic Buck & Rider happy hour, featuring a handcrafted signature cocktail list and premium well-drink program, plus a similar menu to the always popular Camelback location filled with coveted staples such as Baja shrimp ceviche, ahi tuna crispy rice, and smoked trout dip. Buck & Rider’s commitment to quality goes far beyond seafood. Steaks also come from the unique B&R Reserve beef program: USDA-certified, aged, and cut to Buck & Rider specifications.

“We share a deep commitment and passion to delivering value to our guests and community in all areas, from great price points and the best farmer and fishery partners to ingredients and environment,” says Buck & Rider COO Emily Collins. “We’re excited to introduce the values and integrity of the brand to a whole new audience of locals and visitors in such a vibrant and exciting neighborhood.”

As the brand continues to introduce strategic locations that speak to the evolution of the brand, the third Arizona location will debut at Epicenter at Agritopia in Gilbert in the fall of 2023.
