One could certainly call Campo Italian Bistro & Bar a hidden gem. Tucked away in the Village at Hayden shopping center at Hayden and Via de Ventura, Campo Italian Bistro & Bar is a charming spot for a delicious meal. Whether dining with friends, or family, or spending a little one on one time with your significant other, Campo’s vibe is stylishly casual and features a menu built around from-scratch pizzas, paninis, and fresh pasta from chef Jeremy Pacheco.
Open less than two years, Campo Italian Bistro & Bar offers a variety of Italian dishes, including antipasto plates such as cannellini bean hummus, whipped eggplant puree, Seba’s meatballs, braised mussels, burrata, and more. There are also some refreshing salad options including a roasted beet salad, baby gem caesar, and a roasted Brussel sprouts salad.
The dominant Italian dishes served at Campo Italian Bistro and Bar truly shine. If pizza is your style, you won’t be disappointed. All the pizzas are made with regional organic dough with options including margherita, goomah (a white sauce base pizza with mushrooms, fontina cheese, spinach, and basil oil), and the Marco, a meat pizza featuring Calabrese salami, Italian sausage, mozzarella, pecorino, basil, oregano, and Aleppo chili.

Hankering for pasta instead? No problem. There are plenty of freshly made pasta dishes including spaghetti cacio e pepe, bucatini, which has crisp pancetta, confit tomato, basil oregano, chili, and parmesa; a lasagna bolognese, and a great seafood pasta dish call malfadini, which comes with Mexican shrimp, king crab, lobster cream, mushrooms, confit tomato, and tarragon.
Those looking for a hearty, mouthwatering main dish can turn to the chicken al mattone, chicken parmigiana, crispy salmon, and a delicious, melt-in-your-mouth red wine braised short rib dish with creamed potatoes, mushrooms, cipollini onion, and carrot.

Campo doesn’t skimp on the kids’ menu either. The younger members of your dining party will enjoy munching on stracchino cheese, grilled Noble bread with pesto, and giardinara (house made pickles). Kids also have a variety of pizza options.
There are many cocktail on the menu too, as well as a solid wine list. Several after-dinner drink options are available also. For non-alcoholic options, lemonade, iced tea, soft drinks, Galvanina soda, coffee, and hot tea are available. Don’t forget to save room for dessert, as there are some tasty options there as well.

Campo Italian Bistro and Bar, 8260 N. Hayden Rd., is open seven days a week. Hours vary, so be sure to call 480-597-9195 or visit campoitalian.com.
