Chompie’s and JRI Hospitality officially celebrate the opening of the much-anticipated new Chompie’s Deli, Bakery and Restaurant located at 3212 E. Cactus Road. The new location brings 27,000 square feet of vibrant New York experiences and delicacies to neighbors and businesses in North 32nd. In addition to the grand opening festivities, Chompie’s celebrates its 43rd anniversary in the Valley of the Sun on February 14.

“We couldn’t be prouder to open up this new location just a mile from where our original location opened in 1979 and in the very neighborhood where our founders Lou and Lovey still reside,” says Mark Borenstein, co-founder and owner. “We are so grateful to be welcoming back our local customers from the area and look forward to celebrating our official grand opening all month long.”

Four Days of Events and Deals
Festivities begin on Wednesday, Feb. 9, which happens to be National Bagel and Lox Day. Guests of all Chompie’s locations can enjoy a Lox Box (including six bagels, a half-pound of lox and a half pound of plain cream cheese) for just $19.99.

On Thursday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m., A Lennon Legacy, a Beatles tribute band, will be performing at the new location as legendary mural artist Randall Hedden — whose incredible artwork graces the walls of each Chompie’s location — demonstrates his incredible speed painting talents. Hedden’s works will be part of a silent auction that evening to raise money for Junior Achievement Arizona and Playworks. Guests can enjoy drink specials throughout the event.
The next day, Feb. 11, Chompie’s 32nd Street and Cactus Road location pays homage to the local “boys in blue” and the incredible skills of the Special Olympics with a “Tip a Cop” event. From 7-11 a.m., Maricopa County Sheriff officers will serve as “celebrity waiters” with tips (and donations) benefiting the Special Olympics.

On Sunday, Feb. 13, Chompie’s presents “Mocktails and Cocktails” for Junior Achievement. This event takes place at the new location from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., complete with Bloody Mary bar and drink specials, with proceeds benefitting Junior Achievement.

Feb. 14 marks the official grand opening and celebration of the brand’s 43rd anniversary (not to mention Valentine’s Day) with free heart cookies, ribbon cutting and proclamation ceremony with Mayor Kate Gallego, Representative Debbie Stark and Chamber members at 2 p.m., followed by a reception featuring free slices of a giant celebratory cake.
