Local entrepreneur, Heidi Koffman, and working mom, Jen Racer, are excited to announce the launch of Craft Nights by The Hippie Hobby . With a love of all things hippie, modern, retro, and crafting, Craft Nights encourages creativity for people of all ages. First born from a love of the 70’s when they launched their subscription box in 2015– they are going back to their roots on how they first started – ladies’ nights and wine! The BYOB (beer and wine), DIY arts and crafts studio, focuses on event-based craft nights while bringing people together. With a soft launch in late February, their doors are now open, with a full calendar in April 2018.

How did Craft Nights start?

Craft Nights was created out of the want and need for a little time to unwind for individuals needing to relax and get together with friends. What began as a small group of friends getting together for a night of wine, a potluck, and crafting, became much more when Heidi and Jen realized they needed a dedicated studio capable of hosting more crafters than their homes.

As our subscription box grew, Jen and I discussed looking for a studio space. We decided we wanted to really embrace how we began our journey almost three years ago, getting people together for wine and crafting. We found the perfect space.” said Heidi Koffman, Co-Founder of The Hippie Hobby and Craft Nights by The Hippie Hobby.

What kind of crafts do you have at your studio?

Some of the popular Craft Nights offered are String Art, Wood Sign Making, and Paint Nights. String art is all the craze right now. Our state of Arizona with a heart and a cactus is popular throughout the state. All about Arizona love. We have several templates for String Art in addition to the state of Arizona; like butterflies, hummingbirds, pineapple (love this one!), a giant heart, cacti and so many others. We also have several templates for our Wood Sign Making – our favorite (because we are dog lovers) is “Always be pawsitive”, which you can turn into a leash holder! Or,because we live on coffee ” But First Coffee” that we turn into a mug holder! There’s too many to choose from. And, of course we have Paint Nights!

Are you BYOB?

You know it! Not only are we dog lovers and coffee fanatics – but we LOVE wine! Our studio is BYOB on all classes or events after 4pm for beer and wine only! So come on and have a glass with us!

Are you kid friendly?

Of course! We love kids! The third Monday of every month from 3pm–7pm is our Kidz Krafternoon. All crafts are $15 for kids – it’s so fun to see them create! We also love birthday parties for kids! Stay tuned for our upcoming calendars as we add events such as “Family Day”, “Daddy/Kid Date Night” and “Mommy and Me” nights. These will start in May!

Do you offer private parties?

Yup! We love them, and have hosted quite a few already! You will want to email us to save your space! We offer all types of private parties from ladies’ night to team building experiences! Get creative with us!

I’m a beginner, and don’t know how to craft or do anything artistic…is that okay?

Of course! We are instructor led for all of our classes. There is absolutely no artistic ability needed for you to have fun and to learn. We have great instructors who can’t wait to help you and guide you throughout your creative process.

Where are you located?

We are located at 10832 N 32nd Street, Phoenix, AZ 85028 in the Shea Villiage Plaza – off 32nd street and Shea – in the same plaza as Bosa Donuts and Federico’s…next to Empower Wellness and Molly Maid.
