Sunrise Mountain Library in Peoria has an exciting lineup of events for the community this September. Located at 21109 N. 98th Ave., the library is hosting a series of events that cater to various interests, from juggling shows and crafting clubs to reading programs and mystery game nights.

Kicking off the month on September 2, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., is James the Juggler, who will be performing an entertaining show featuring incredible juggling feats that are sure to thrill and amaze the whole family.
For the crafting enthusiasts, the Time for Crafting for Adults Club will be held on September 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a great opportunity for crochet, knitting, and sewing/needlework enthusiasts to bring their own projects to work on, share ideas, tips, and patterns, and engage in friendly and cheerful conversation. The event is open to needlecrafters of all levels, from beginners to advanced, but participants must be 18 years of age or older.

On the same day, September 9, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., the library will also host the PAWS 2 Read program. This ongoing program allows children to read aloud to trained therapy dogs and their handlers, helping them become more confident readers while having fun. The dogs do not correct the children or make them feel awkward if they stumble, making it a supportive and enjoyable environment for the kids.

For book lovers, the Between the Covers Book Group will meet on September 19, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. This month, the group will discuss “A Man Called Ove” by Fredrik Backman. The event will be offered in both virtual and in-person formats. To register for either option, contact Cathy Coffman at 623-773-8650 or [email protected]. An email with a link to the event will be sent to those who choose to join virtually on the day of the meeting.

Lastly, the library will host a Mystery Game Night on September 20, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Participants are invited to bring their friends and family to play Nancy Drew: Mystery at Magnolia Garden, Body on the Boardwalk, and Death at the Dive Bar. Help solve the mysteries and find out whodunit! Registration is required for this event.
