PVSchools was selected by Honeywell and the Arizona Diamondbacks as a recipient of a $5,000 grant to enhance the district’s robotics library in support of the STEAM initiative in Paradise Valley.

Before the Diamondbacks game on Sunday, May 18, representatives of PVSchools accepted a $5,000 check on the field on behalf of the district. Among the representatives were STEAM and Science Curriculum Specialists, Krysta Perez and Robin Hayward, along with Pam Fulk, the STEM and CREST Coordinator for Paradise Valley High School, and Christy Tenney, the district IT Integration Facilitator. This marked a fantastic way to showcase to the community how hard PVSchools has been working to develop its STEAM and robotics program.

It was a tremendous achievement for PVSchools to be selected from all the applicants. The awarded funds will undoubtedly be put to good use. After receiving the funds, class sets of robots will be purchased for schools to check out and use in their classrooms. The district will monitor the usage and assess how it positively impacts the students.

Congratulations to everyone who helped make this happen, and to all students who will benefit from this award.
