Join Peoria residents for a brisk morning swim and help promote water safety at Peoria’s annual Winter Water Safety Day and Polar Plunge.
The event is free to attend on Sat., Jan. 7 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Centennial Pool, 8108 W. Acoma. The pool hasn’t been heated since early November and the temperature is estimated to be in the low 40s.
Hot pancakes will be served, and those daring enough to swim across the pool will receive a free t-shirt marking their accomplishment. The event also raises funds to provide free swim lessons to children in need.
