HI, MY NAME IS… Chris Cohn.
I’VE LIVED IN PHOENIX FOR 40 YEARS AND I LOVE IT BECAUSE… I have a really closeknit community here that I’m also able to support.
Every day I’m introduced to new people, usually through Daytryp Health and so our community is constantly growing. The support system is crucial for a healthy and happy life, and I love seeing that.
A TYPICAL DAY IN MY LIFE INCLUDES… I wake up and immediately practice a meditation on gratitude in a quiet space. After that, I do yoga and light stretching to get my body and mind ready for the day. I always go for a walk to get in 10,000 steps to keep myself active. No matter what’s going on, it’s important to take care of yourself.
I’ll arrive at Daytryp Health really early before anybody and take a half hour for myself to think about what I need to do that day, and answer emails and calls. When my staff arrives, we’ll go over the day plan, but I love taking that time to focus and set intentions.
MY FAMILY IS… the most important group of people in my life.
ONE THING I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IS… yoga. It wakes me up, keeps me healthy, and keeps me focused.
MY FAVORITE MOVIE I COULD NEVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING AND WHY IS… “Ace Ventura Pet Detective.” This film makes me laugh every time and it’s important to laugh as often as you can.
WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I WANTED TO BE… a professional bass fisherman. I grew up fishing with my grandfather and every year we would go fishing in an exotic destination. It is absolutely my favorite thing to do in the world.
THE SONG I WOULD SING AT KARAOKE NIGHT IS… “I Will Always Love You,” the Whitney Houston version.
THE ONE PERSON WHO MOTIVATES ME IS… my father because of his tremendous work ethic and how he lives his life. He treats everyone with integrity and respect. He never speaks poorly about anyone. He’s a very impressive person.
THE LAST THING THAT MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD WAS… something that my father said. It’s interesting how you can laugh out loud but not remember the joke and this is that instance. My family has a great sense of humor. I remember about a week ago we were on the phone, and he said something that made me laugh for a good two minutes. I guess it’s the moments that matter and not so much what was said.
THE PERFECT DAY IS… waking up in gratitude then helping people throughout the day to achieve wellness and become healthy versions of themselves. If I’m supporting my staff and taking care of the community then it’s a perfect day. Watching the transformation of clients is a blessing. Then I can go to bed with a full heart.
MY FAVORITE LOCAL NONPROFIT IS… Modern Spirit. A doctor we work closely with at Daytryp Health formed this nonprofit to help people afford psychedelic treatment. It’s a great way to assist the community
MY LIFE IS… a series of events that help me grow into a better human being daily. I try to always learn from my mistakes or opportunities.
THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED WAS… being born with the gift of perseverance and the ability to be a supportive part of the wellness community. Being in service of others… Is there anything more important than that?
MY DREAM VACATION WOULD BE… a vacation I do every summer, which is fishing in Eagle River Wisconsin with my dad. It’s our favorite place in the world and I live it every year. How lucky am I?
THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED IS… life is all about managing expectations, most of all, your own.
