HI, MY NAME IS… Wendy Armendariz

I’VE LIVED IN SCOTTSDALE FOR FIVE YEARS AND I LOVE IT BECAUSE… it is a family oriented and peaceful community.

A TYPICAL DAY IN MY LIFE INCLUDES…starting the day with a walk around my community to help me start my day. My son is a student at Laguna Elementary and I take care of school drop off. I then have the joy of leading Neighborhood Outreach Access to Health (NOAH), a nonprofit community health center, focusing on transforming the health of our community. I spend my evening with my family having dinner and sharing the experiences of our day.

MY FAMILY IS… the most important joy of my life.
ONE THING I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IS… coffee. I am originally from Guatemala and coffee is a staple in my household.

MY FAVORITE MOVIE I COULD NEVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING AND WHY… “Miss Sloan” is a great movie that emphasizes the strength of women.

WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I WANTED TO BE… a professional shopper. I love my retail therapy.

THE SONG I WOULD SING AT KARAOKE NIGHT IS… “Don’t Stop Believin’”, I’m a dreamer at heart and believe in perseverance.

THE ONE PERSON WHO MOTIVATES ME IS… my husband Scott, he is my rock and inspiration.

THE LAST THING THAT MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD WAS… my son Sebastian. He is working on his joke telling and we definitely need to practice.

THE PERFECT DAY IS… spending time with my family watching a movie or spending time with my team planning for the future.
MY FAVORITE LOCAL NONPROFIT IS… NOAH. We have an amazing team that is passionate about providing access to health care for everyone––noahhelps.org!

MY LIFE IS… blessed and I am grateful every day for my family, my community, and the opportunity I have every day to serve others.

THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED WAS… I recently received an Ember mug, which keeps my coffee nice and warm.

MY DREAM VACATION WOULD BE… going to the beach without any electronics, making new memories with my family.
THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED… “Love what you do and do it well.” One of my mentors shared this career advice with me when I first started my career journey. It’s the best advice that I live by today.
