HI, MY NAME IS… Jason Pritchett.

I’VE LIVED IN SCOTTSDALE FOR 15 YEARS, AND I LOVE IT BECAUSE… it is the land of opportunity. Since moving to Arizona for work in 2007, it has become our home in every way. Here, I have had the chance to take on new opportunities, including in 2019 when I joined Radix Law as president as we became the first multi-lawyer traditional law firm in to be approved as an Alternative Business Structure (ABS) in the United States. Here, I have also had the chance to bring new opportunities, including this month as I launch my newest endeavor, GEST Carts. GEST Carts, which stands for Green, Easy, Safe Transportation, is now available in Old Town Scottsdale. The 100% electric carts operate similar to car transportation services like Uber or Lyft. Scottsdale riders can “call” a cart through the mobile app – downloadable through the Apple Store and Google Play Store – that tracks driver locations and estimated arrival times. The vehicles can drive on main roads, keeping with the flow of traffic – but in a much more sustainable and enjoyable way than traditional transportation. Of course, here my wife and I have also become parents, the most important reason this is our true home.
A TYPICAL DAY IN MY LIFE INCLUDES… hitting the weights and cardio at the gym at 5 a.m. before helping with the kids’ exodus to school. From there, I head to the firm for work and often to check on GEST Carts, then after work it is all about the kids’ after-school activities and dinner with the family together.

MY FAMILY IS… a joy. The reason I work so hard. My everything.

ONE THING I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IS… a tie between music and great food.

MY FAVORITE MOVIE I COULD NEVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING AND WHY IS… “Inception,” because it requires you to push the limits of what you think you know.

WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I WANTED TO… travel and see the world, as well as to be a professional athlete. I went so far as to play sports in college, but as I got older, I began to dream of being an orthopedic surgeon versus an athlete (which would also allow that travel). I studied medicine my first several years in college, in fact. It wasn’t until I took the LSAT on a recommendation from peers – who thought the essays would be good practice for the MCAT – that I started thinking about law. But after I took it, I kept thinking about it until I decided to change my major. And the rest is history!

THE SONG I WOULD SING AT KARAOKE NIGHT IS… “Creep” by Radiohead.

THE ONE PERSON WHO MOTIVATES ME AND WHY IS… my wife. My love.

THE LAST THING THAT MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD WAS… watching the new family puppy!

THE PERFECT DAY IS… anytime I am able to be present enough to laugh, learn, and cry in the same day.
MY FAVORITE LOCAL NONPROFIT IS… Thunderbird Charities. I was proud to join the Thunderbirds in 2019. Through the WM Phoenix Open, we have helped create literacy programs, fund domestic violence shelters, provide school clothes for low-income families, and even furnish safe places to live for recently homeless, veterans in need, and youth aging out of the foster care system. Next month will be a busy one as we take over the TPC Scottsdale for the famed WM Phoenix Open yet again from Feb. 6 to 12. To give perspective on our goals, the 2022 WM Phoenix Open raised nearly $10.5 million for charity and the Thunderbirds have raised more than $176 million in the tournament’s history. The sky is the limit this year.

MY LIFE IS… blessed.

THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED WAS… my children!

MY DREAM VACATION WOULD BE… Japan.

THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED WAS… never stop learning. Both of my parents were educators, so there was a premium put on education since the day I was born. It is a concept I focus on with my own family today.
