JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa recently announced the introduction of the AquaRidge WaterPark, a landmark addition in its ambitious $80 million resort-wide transformation. The $18 million project reinvents and amplifies the resort’s pool experience with a 140,000-square-foot water park, designed to captivate visitors of all ages with an array of water adventures.

“We are very excited to welcome guests to AquaRidge WaterPark as part of our resort-wide $80 million transformation,” says General Manager Paige Lund. “Our intentional design and exclusive programming will offer our guests an entirely reimagined experience from the moment they enter AquaRidge WaterPark. The water park will offer surprises and delights around every corner, luxury accommodations including secluded areas for respite, and family-friendly activities that appeal to all types of travelers.”

Highlights of the new water park include the Havasu Playground and the Lazy River, catering to various ages and thrill levels. The playground boasts three unique water slides set to open by mid-summer, alongside the Wildfire Grove which features two refreshed pools and a waterfall. Additionally, the exclusive adults-only Sky Island and Sedona Springs are set to open later this summer.

The Havasu Playground offers a comprehensive line-up of water park experiences. Guests can enjoy cabanas, a splash pad for kids, and an exciting array of food and beverage offerings. The Canyon Creek Lazy River, a family favorite, has been upgraded, offering a relaxing float amidst stunning surroundings. Adding to the indulgence are the Canyon Creek Day Suites, providing guests with a secluded area equipped with multiple amenities, including lounge seating, a private bathroom, air conditioning, and personalized service.

The highlight of the Havasu Playground is the mid-summer debut of three water slides. The Gullywasher, the only dual-person vertical wall tube slide at a resort west of the Mississippi, promises an adrenaline rush for thrill-seekers. The Drop offers a steep, high-speed body slide experience, while Little Eddy caters to younger kids or thrill-averse adults with gentle slopes and easy turns.

The original Wildfire Grove area, a fan favorite, has undergone a complete refresh. Featuring two pools and the popular Just A Splash pool bar, the area is an ideal location for kids to enjoy the waterfall, while adults relax in one of the cabanas equipped with a range of amenities.

As part of the new experience, each resort guest receives an RFID wristband acting as a room key and pool gate key. A dedicated pool concierge team will escort guests to their reserved areas in the water park, ensuring an elevated experience.

In the coming months, JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa will unveil Sedona Springs, a sanctuary offering personalized concierge services, and Sky Island, an exclusive adults-only retreat. The latter will feature amenities such as an infinity edge plunge pool, hot tub, fire pits, and a VIP welcome attendant, offering a peaceful haven overlooking the lake and golf course.

The resort is a joint venture between Trinity Real Estate Investments LLC and institutional investors. For more information about the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, 5350 E. Marriott Dr., Phoenix, and its transformation, please visit jwdesertridge.com.
