The west valley is growing by leaps and bounds and with that growth, there is the need and desire for plenty of options for dining.

Valley resident Deborah Huyer and her family were frustrated that restaurants weren’t matching the growth in the area in the southwest valley, out near Goodyear. Huyer, who had her own experience as a trained chef, decided to join forces with her son, who has a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, and his wife, who has experience in hospitality, and decided to fill a need out in the Estrella Mountain area.

The family realized they had the know-how to get things going and created Huyer Club Concepts LLC. The company and family business is committed to understanding and serving the dining needs of local communities, especially in this particular area. The company owns three concepts in the area, Café Bebida, Lakeside Grill, and The Cantina at Presidio. All very different concepts appealing to a different audience.

Café Bebida features an array of coffee drinks, including Kona coffee, assorted pastries, gelato, and other goodies. Café Bebida is in the Estrella Welcome Center located at 8175 Hillside Drive and is open daily from 7am – 2pm.

The other locations offer different menus, offering a variety of food options to residents in the area. Lakeside Grill offers an American fare menu of foods. The restaurant has several options including brunch on the weekends, lunch menu options Thursday through Monday, and dinner is available Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Lakeside Grill’s brunch menu offers classic dishes like eggs, omelets, benedicts, avocado toast, and chicken fried steak, just to name a few. For lunch options, the restaurant offers items like shrimp tacos, chicken salad croissant sandwich, classic BLT, and other dishes including salads, burgers, and more. For dinner at Lakeside, you can get things such as a baked pretzel, fried cauliflower, bruschetta trio, burgers, pasta dishes, and grilled meats including petite filet, ribeye, shrimp skewers, salmon, chicken breast, and cauliflower steak. Those meats come with options of sauce including garlic butter, Steak Diane, Blue Cheese & Bacon Crumbles and then sides to go with the dishes including Rosted Garlic Potatoes, French Fries, Loaded Baked Potato, Crispy Brussel Sprouts, and more. They also offer specialty cocktail options, and a variety of non-alcoholic drinks. Lakeside Grill is located at 17665 W. Elliot Road at the Starpoint Residents’ Club, and it is open to all the public. Details, menu options and other information can be found online at www.lakesidegrillestrella.com.

The Cantina at Presidio, which is located at the Presidio Residents Club at 18209 W. Calistoga Dr., is a Mexican-theme restaurant, and a great place to hang out and grab a margarita and some amazing appetizers and main dishes with friends and family. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday, and they offer Sunday brunch 9:30 am to 1:00 pm. All of the food is made from scratch by their amazing chef who is inspired to put a twist on some classic Mexican favorites. Some of those include homemade chips and salsa, guacamole, ceviche, queso Fundido, and Elote, which was a personal family favorite when we got the chance to dine on site.

The restaurant also offers such dishes including street tacos, fish tacos, shrimp tacos, crunchy tacos, different enchilada options, and a variety of meats including Carne Asada, Pollo Asada, Chicken Tinga, Birria, Carnitas, and more. Fajita options, burros and Chimis, and for those looking for something a little lighter, there are also salads and bowls that include your choice of meat. There are also some specialty dish options including Baja seafood plate, and grilled white fish, as well as some American food items such as a Cheeseburger and Chicken Club.

There are also fun cocktail options, beer, wine, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverage choices. For more information on The Cantina at Presido, check out their website at www.cantinapresidio.com.
