Phoenix-based radio and television personality Mike Broomhead will serve as the master of ceremonies at the annual Gathering of Heroes event on Thursday, June 8, at American Legion Post 34, 6272 E. Cave Creek Rd., in Cave Creek. The event, presented by the Arizona Chapter of the Marine Corps – Law Enforcement Foundation (MC-LEF), honors veterans, military members, and first responders, and raises funds for the children of fallen servicemembers.

Broomhead, known for emceeing presidential rallies and advocating for veterans and active military personnel, currently hosts the Mike Broomhead Show on KTAR 92.3 FM. His passion for supporting veterans was inspired by the loss of his brother, Tom, who was killed in action in Iraq on Memorial Day in 2003.

Steve Hooper, the MC-LEF committee chairperson, expressed enthusiasm for Broomhead’s involvement, saying, “His commitment to advocating for veterans across the country and passion for fighting for the freedoms of Americans makes him the perfect fit for this event. We look forward to having him inspire, honor, and entertain our audience.”

The Gathering of Heroes reception will feature a concert by Arizona native country-western musician Josh Scott and is open to the public for $20 at the door. Guests can enjoy dinner, live music, a silent auction, and fellowship with the local military community. The event serves as a prelude to MC-LEF’s main fundraising event, the 18th Annual Arizona Golf Tournament, scheduled for Friday, June 9, at Grayhawk Golf Club, 8620 E. Thompson Peak Pkwy., in Scottsdale.

Proceeds from both events directly support MC-LEF’s mission to provide a $35,000 educational fund for each child of a fallen member of the Marine Corps or any Federal Law Enforcement Agency. Last year’s tournament raised over $60,000, and since its inception, the foundation has raised more than $90 million nationally and $1.9 million in Arizona.
