Upcoming City Council Meeting in Peoria
The city of Peoria will hold its next city council meeting on Tuesday, May 7, at 6 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Peoria Council Chamber, located at 8401 W. Monroe St.

Mother’s Day Culinary FUN in Peoria
The Peoria Community Center is calling all young chefs to tie on their aprons for a Mother’s Day celebration like no other. On May 7 and 8, just in time for Mother’s Day, the center will host Mother’s Day Culinary Chaos, a cooking class where kids and teens can whip up dishes to show their appreciation for Mom.

The two-day event caters to various age groups, with the May 7 session welcoming youngsters aged 9 to 11 (Course # 88658) and the following day opening its kitchen to those 12 and older (Course # 88657). Both classes run from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., offering an engaging blend of culinary education and fun.

For an entrance fee of just $15, participants will embark on a savory journey, learning to prepare recipes that promise to add an extra dash of love to Mother’s Day celebrations. It’s an opportunity for the community’s youth to learn new skills, enjoy the art of cooking, and leave with dishes that will make any mom’s heart melt.

A new Tesla Supercharger station is now available at Park West, located at 9744 W. Northern Ave. Featuring 16 superchargers, the station is conveniently situated behind BJ’s Restaurant. Electric vehicle (EV) drivers can recharge their cars while enjoying local shopping and dining options.

Creativity shines on the streets of Peoria as local artist Michelle Orahim’s Arizona-inspired artwork has transformed an everyday utility box into a vibrant canvas, capturing the spirit and beauty of the state.

Orahim, who submitted her entry for the city of Peoria’s Utility Box Art Contest in January, was recently honored with the news of her victory. Her winning piece showcases her talent and vision, offering both residents and visitors a peek at artistic flair at the northwest corner of Union Hills and 83rd Avenue.

The contest, hosted by the city of Peoria, aims to beautify the urban landscape by turning mundane utility boxes into stunning works of art. Orahim’s design stood out for its ability to embody the unique charm of Arizona’s landscapes and culture.
