The Peoria Education Foundation has recently awarded a total of $51,000 in scholarships to outstanding high school seniors in the Peoria Unified School District. These scholarships are given in various categories to recognize students who have overcome adversity, demonstrated a strong commitment to community service, shown a passion for history, excelled in leadership, and participated in the Unified Sports program.

The Peoria Education Foundation awards various scholarships for high school seniors in the following categories: The Against All Odds Scholarship recognizes Peoria Unified high school seniors who have overcome adversity and tremendous obstacles to successfully complete their graduation requirements and plan to continue their education. The Community Service Scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate a strong commitment to the community and excel academically. Each student who has been awarded this scholarship completed more than 100 hours of community service. The Joseph McCord Memorial Scholarship is designed to honor high school students with a passion for history who plan to continue their post-secondary education. The Dr. Santarelli Leadership Scholarship honors the achievements of graduating high school seniors who have demonstrated excellence in leadership throughout their high school career. The Rosella and Hugo Sickinger Memorial Scholarship is given to one female student who demonstrates leadership and poise. Lastly, the Project Unify Scholarship & Award is given to exemplary partners and athletes for their participation in the Unified Sports program on their high school campus. The scholarship recipients were recognized at a special reception held on April 3 at Centennial High School. The Peoria Education Foundation, an IRS designated 501(c)(3) organization, has been providing scholarships to students and grants to teachers within the Peoria Unified School District since 1987. Through these scholarships, the foundation continues to enhance the educational experiences of students and support their pursuit of higher education. The scholarship recipients include:
