Shea Homes has broken ground on Prelude at Storyrock, a new single-family home community in northeast Scottsdale. With 51 available homesites across approximately 35 acres of land, Prelude at Storyrock features single level homes ranging from 2,845 to 3,963 square feet. Five distinct floor plans are creatively designed with 4 to 5 bedrooms, 3.5 to 4.5 bathrooms, 3 to 4 car-garage, and flexible spaces for livability and function. Prelude offers attractive, innovative architecture to meet any outdoor lifestyle.

With an ideal location in northeast Scottsdale, at the intersection of 128th Street and Ranch Gate Road, this new community of single-family detached homes is surrounded by more than 30,000 acres of protected desert habitat in Scottsdale.

“This community sits next to more than 150 miles of trails just waiting to be explored on foot or bike. Quick access to the Loop 101 makes this stunning desert escape an ideal home base for your outdoor life and city living,” according to the company. “World-class restaurants, shops, spas, golf courses, and exciting nightlife of Scottsdale are just a short drive away.”

Bordered by the McDowell Sonoran Preserve on three sides, Shea Homes’ residents will be surrounded by the largest urban preserve in the United States. On a total of 462 acres, the Storyrock master plan will encompass a total of 443 homes, developed by Shea and other select homebuilders. All home sites are specially-designed to minimize impact to the land – allowing for 50% of the community’s acreage to remain dedicated to natural area open space and wildlife corridors. With the groundbreaking of Shea’s model homes underway, sales are expected to start this fall.

“This is our first new community in the north Scottsdale area in well over a decade, and we’re looking forward to welcoming new homeowners to the area,” says Ken Peterson, vice president of sales and marketing at Shea Homes Arizona. “The setting is spectacular, and as you drive into this community, the desert location brings a sense of calm, yet the conveniences of city life are close by.”
