For the 2020-21 school year, the PVSchools Governing Board has appointed several new district office administrators, as well as six new principal and three assistant principal assignments.

New Administrators
Dr. Shaun Holmes was appointed as the director of human resources – certified. He joins PVSchools from Mesa Public Schools where he served as the associate superintendent of human resources, 2019-present, as well as the assistant superintendent of human resources. Prior to Mesa Public Schools, Holmes was employed at Scottsdale Unified School District where he served as a director, principal, assistant principal, and teacher.

Dr. Patrice De La Ossa was appointed as the coordinator of PVOnline. She joins PVSchools from the J.O. Combs Unified School District where she served as a science and social studies specialist since 2019. Dr. De La Ossa has served as an adjunct educator at Northwestern University since 2016. She was an educator at Seattle Public Schools from 2007-2017. De La Ossa was an adjunct professor at Antioch University from 2006-2015. She was also employed as a writer at ApexLearning, Inc. from 2011-2012.

Brandon George is the new director of transportation. For the 2019-20 school year, George served as the assistant director of transportation. He joined the district in 2019 from Baltimore County Public Schools where he was the senior operations manager.

Anthony Izzo III was appointed as the assistant director of transportation. He comes to the district from First Transit (Valley Metro) where he worked since 2015 and most recently served as the operations manager.

New Principals
Dr. Danielle Else was appointed as Fireside Elementary School’s principal. She joined PVSchools in 2017 as a teacher and most recently served as a teacher on assignment. Else was previously employed at Scottsdale Unified School District as an enrichment coach from 2013-2016. She has also been employed at Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District in California from 2001-2006.

Jennifer Penoyer is the interim principal of Liberty Elementary School. She joined the PVSchools family in 2011 as a teacher and, since 2017, has served as an administrative intern. Prior to PVSchools, Penoyer taught in Florida and Virginia.

Patrick Clancy is transferring to Mountain Trail Middle School where he will be the school’s new principal. He previously served as director of human resources – certified for the past four years. He joined the PVSchools family for the 2000-01 school year and has held many roles including principal, assistant principal, dean of students, and teacher.

Dr. Aaron Freed was appointed the principal at Pinnacle Peak Preparatory School. He comes to PVSchools from Archuleta School District 50 where he served as assistant principal/athletic director since 2015. Freed was also employed at Roseville Area Schools Independent School District and Osseo Area Independent School District, both in Minnesota.

Jesse Kinney-Alcazar is the new principal at Sandpiper Elementary School. Kinney-Alcazar joined PVSchools in 2019 as an instructional coach. She was previously employed at Scottsdale Unified School District from 2010-2017 where she served as a principal, assistant principal, and director of state and federal grants.

Teresa Simmons was appointed as the interim principal at Sunset Canyon Elementary School. She was previously the principal at Fireside Elementary School. Simmons joined the PVSchools family in 1996 as a teacher and also worked as a teacher on assignment prior to being named principal in 2009.

New Assistant Principals
Jorge Ontiveros is the new assistant principal at Greenway Middle School. He previously served as the assistant principal at North Canyon High School. Ontiveros has been employed with PVSchools since 2009 and held the following positions: dean of students, administrative intern, and teacher.

Matthew Lersch was appointed as an assistant principal at North Canyon High School. He joins the district from Phoenix Union High School District where he served as the academy administrator since 2015 and as the special education facilitator from 2012-2015. Prior to working for Phoenix Union High School District, Lersch was employed at Tolleson Union High School District from 2006-2012.

Kimberly Koda is the new assistant principal at Pinnacle High School. She joined the PVSchools family in 2011 as a teacher and most recently, she has served as dean of students.
