Peoria Unified Welcomes New Chief Student Services Officer
Recently, Peoria Unified announced that Dr. Carter Davidson will take on the role as the district’s Chief Student Services Officer. In this role, Dr. Davidson will oversee all elementary and high schools, providing additional support to students, teachers and school leaders.

According to the district, Dr. Davidson is an advocate of student learning and positive displays of character. He is all about promoting quality practices and procedures that lead to achievement for all learners and success for all employees, and he looks forward to his new role with Peoria Unified. “I am honored to work with a team of very talented district leaders and principals in a way that supports their efforts to achieve student success,” he says.

Dr. Davidson just finished his fifth year as Chief Personnel Officer for the Peoria Unified School District. In his previous 19 years of service to the Alhambra Elementary School District, Dr. Davidson served in various roles, including: K-3 Special Education teacher, Intervention Specialist, Principal of Barcelona Middle School, Director of Student Services, and Director of Human Resource Support Services. Dr. Davidson earned his bachelor’s degree from Grand Canyon University and his master’s and doctorate degrees from Arizona State University.

Peoria Unified Earns Accolades for Quality Financial Reporting
The Peoria Unified School District was recently awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting (COE) from the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International. The Certificate of Excellence demonstrates Peoria Unified’s commitment to fiscal responsibility and financial reporting, according to the district.

Peoria Unified earned the Certificate of Excellence for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020. This award demonstrates the district has met the COE program’s high standards for financial reporting and transparency.

Peoria Unified maintains copies of audited financial statements, budgets and related reports the district’s website at peoriaunified.org. Individuals can search annual financial reports by year and view information on how Peoria Unified spends dollars in the classroom.
