With all of the hard work, we have set the foundation for a successful school, with the goal of being the best! It will definitely be a sense of accomplishment,” says Chad Caudle, principal of Sky Crossing Elementary School.

Signature Programs
The school’s signature programs provide students the ability to participate in cutting-edge programs and innovative learning experiences.

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM):
With the emphasis being placed on providing a well-rounded academic program rich in science and technology, as well as the arts, more schools across the nation are incorporating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education into the curriculum.

Principal Caudle is no stranger to this academic approach as he implemented a successful STEAM program at Desert Shadows Elementary School.

“We are very excited to bring a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics focus to Sky Crossing Elementary. STEAM programming helps students develop much-needed skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking that will help them succeed academically, personally, and professionally. The opportunities in this field are endless, and we believe that our students will benefit tremendously,” says Caudle.

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS):
PBIS creates a more effective learning environment by making schools safe, positive, and equitable for all students, which leads to measurable increases in achievement and behavior. “This is a framework for teaching children appropriate behavior and providing the support necessary to sustain that behavior. PBIS identifies student needs, develops strategies, and evaluates practices. With our mascot being the Aviators, Sky Crossing students will show everyone how to ‘Earn your WINGS,’” adds Caudle.

Early Learning Programs
Early learning programs lay the foundation and building blocks needed to prepare young, eager learners for success in kindergarten and elementary school. There are many long-lasting benefits associated with structured early learning programs, such as: emotional and social growth, motor skills, and more.

Little Scholars Preschool:
Students in the Little Scholars Preschool program prepare for kindergarten in a developmentally appropriate, play-based program. This program is tuition-based.

Serving Unique Needs (SUN)
Kids Preschool:

SUN Kids Preschool provides special education services for 3- to 5-year-old students with special or unique needs and who are not yet eligible for kindergarten. All students must be screened prior to placement in the program. Screening appointments are available year-round. The SUN Kids program only accepts preschoolers from inside the district boundary and is not eligible for open enrollment.

Before and After School
Mascot Club

Sky Crossing Elementary School will offer a before and after school program to students. The Mascot program operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. when school is in session. Mascot Club students enjoy a rich variety of activities that aim to cultivate students’ talents and interests such as games, art, sports, and STEM-based projects.
