Scorpion Bay is a recreation destination for locals and tourists alike located at Lake Pleasant. As the hub of water play at the lake, Scorpion Bay serves a variety of guests, from those looking for a relaxing waterfront meal and cocktail, to those seeking adventure on the water. With their busy season just beginning, we recently checked in with them for the latest news.

Now Hiring Multiple Positions
The marina team and Scorpion Bay Grill are looking for more crew members as they enter their
busy season. Marina positions for individuals 18 and older include dockhands and deckhands, security, office rental agents, boat dry storage attendants (boat launch and retrieval), and more. These crew members assist with guest relations, safety and operations, orientations, boat maintenance, cleaning, and more to keep the marina running smoothly and safely. Full, part-time, and seasonal marina positions are immediately available with full benefits available for full-time employees. Interested in applying? E-mail resumes to [email protected].

Additionally, Scorpion Bay Grill is hiring team members for the general store as well as restaurant food runners, servers, and hosts. Servers must have experience. Email [email protected] or [email protected] for restaurant and general store positions.

“Working at Scorpion Bay is a tremendous opportunity for each of us,” says Marina Manager Lynn Lovelady. “Being able to show up for work at a dream location, help our guests have a safe and enjoyable visit, and collaborate with such a dedicated crew is something I’m incredibly grateful for. As we expand our team, it’s important that we bring on additional hard-working individuals to provide premium service to the wide variety of local and international guests that visit the marina each season.”

Scorpion Bay Announces New Management
While she is excited about new team members, Lovelady is also a recent addition to the Scorpion Bay team. According to Desert Troon Companies, which manages the marina, Lovelady is an experienced marina manager who serves as the members’ primary point of contact. She also focuses on boat storage, managing rental boat projects, member services and other operational and human resources-related responsibilities.

“Lynn has a wealth of marina, rental and operational experience, is adept at building staff and strengthening internal teams, serving members, creating superb hospitality experiences and coordinating with multiple government, public and private entities to move projects forward,” shares Jon Coulter, development vice president and director at Desert Troon Companies. “Most recently an award-winning marina director at Lake Powell, she excels at all aspect of marina leadership – from budgets and operations to premier member and employee services.”

Throughout her career, safety has been a priority for Lovelady. At Lake Powell, she focused on the large marina fleet rental operation and the management of more than 170 employees.

“Lynn is people-centric, an adept problem solver, steady, efficient and is an excellent leader,” Coulter says. “She has earned accolades and professional recognition throughout her career, and we anticipate continued success with our Scorpion Bay team.”
