Arizona Broadway Theatre (ABT) presents “Flashdance The Musical” at the premier destination for musical theatre in the Valley.

Based on the popular 1983 feature film of the same name, “Flashdance The Musical” tells the inspiring story of Alex, a welder by day and “flashdancer” by night, who dreams of going to the prestigious Shipley Dance Academy and becoming a professional dancer. When a romance complicates her ambitions, she harnesses it to drive her dream.

“We are excited to bring this iconic film to life on stage and relive the 80s once again with director and choreographer Courtney Laine Self from New York City who previously directed and choreographed ABT’s 2019 production of ‘Xanadu,’” says Kiel Klaphake, Executive Director and CEO of ABT. “We are also very grateful for Bette Aronsohn for generously supporting this ABT production. She has been a longtime supporter and patron of the theatre with a love for the arts. “

“Flashdance” is a musical spectacle about the power of holding onto your dreams – and love – against all odds. The show plays both matinee and evening performances through April 24 at Arizona Broadway Theatre, located at 7701 W. Paradise Lane in Peoria. For ticket info and prices, visit azbroadway.org.
