Embracing the Arizona heat, runners across the state are set to partake in the 10th Annual Arizona Sunrise Series, with its third leg taking place at Rio Vista Park. This event forms part of the prestigious StartLine Racing Series and offers not only an exhilarating race but also substantial prizes.

The 2023 Sunrise Series encourages runners to participate in the entirety of the seven-event series. Those who do enjoy considerable savings on registration fees. A unique points system is in place, rewarding participants for each event they complete, with additional points given based on age group and overall finish. At the end of the series, the top 100 points earners, along with those who have completed at least four out of the seven events, will be entered into the Arizona Sunrise Series Prize Drawing.

In partnership with StartLine and their sponsors, the series offers an array of valuable prizes. To cap it off, three lucky participants will win a $500 gift card, a perfect way to escape the Phoenix heat.

Participants can expect to receive an exclusive series medal, along with a custom medal add-on for each race they complete within the series. Runners will also be given a custom event Dri-Fit Racerback Tank Top, Sleeveless Shirt, or Short Sleeve Shirt. The event has also increased water stations along the course to cater to the summer heat.

Recognizing excellence, age group awards will be given to the top three in all age groups, which span from 8 & Under to 75 & Over. Moreover, a runner’s brunch will be provided pre and post-race, complete with granola bars, fruit, water, Gatorade, and more.

Chip timing will ensure real-time results and photos available on StartLine Racing’s website or mobile app (Apple and Google).

On race day, registration will open from 5:30 a.m. at Rio Vista Park, 8866 W. Thunderbird Rd., Peoria, accepting cash, check, and credit cards. Registration on race day will cost $50, with shirt sizes subject to availability for day registrants. The event welcomes wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons, and is pet friendly. However, roller blades, skateboards, and motorized devices are not permitted.

The 2023 AZ Sunrise Series invites participants to other upcoming events including races at the Scottsdale Sports Complex on June 3, Rose Mofford on July 15, and Foothills Park on July 29.
