Benevilla is set to launch a new Caregiver Boot Camp starting June 3.

This free, 11-session educational series is open to the public and aims to empower caregivers by providing expert guidance, valuable insights, and practical tools to assist them in their caregiving journey.

“Benevilla is excited to partner with so many local senior services experts willing to share their knowledge and support our aging population in the Northwest Valley,” says Benevilla President and CEO Joanne Byers. “Today, 30 to 60% of caregivers pass from illnesses related to caregiver stress before the person they are caring for. That’s why getting family caregivers this type of specialized support and information is crucial for our aging communities and their families.”

The boot camp will run over an 11-week period, with classes covering various topics, including basic caregiver skills, nutrition and meal planning, managing cognitive behavioral changes, home safety and assistive devices, and legal and financial planning.”

Classes will be held in Peoria on the first and third Monday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Peoria Community Center, located at 8335 W. Jefferson St. In Surprise, classes will take place on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Home Instead location at 15003 W. Bell Rd., Suite 150, Surprise.

Expert presenters from Benevilla’s C.A.R.E.S. “Preferred Partners” program will lead the sessions. This program consists of over 20 local senior service providers committed to quality and ethical business practices.
