As summer approaches, Discover Mercantile, a unique secondhand, thrift, and gift store, is excited to announce the launch of its Summer Give Back and Vendor programs. Located at 3241 E. Shea Blvd., Ste 7, in Phoenix, Discover Mercantile, the brainchild of friends Heidi Koffman and Natasha Beal, blends style with sustainability. The store features a carefully curated mix of midrange to boutique clothing, including well-known brands like Anthropologie, Free People and Lululemon, alongside charming no-name finds. Shoppers can also explore thrifted treasures like vintage crockery, brand new pet items, quirky gifts and everything in between.

The store’s commitment to circular fashion sets it apart. Koffman and Beal believe that sustainability doesn’t mean sacrificing style. “Aside from finding amazing items at an amazing price, every item that you buy secondhand is one less item heading to the landfill,” Beal says. With weekly inventory updates, customers always have something new to discover.

This month, Discover Mercantile is proud to launch their unique “Buy One, Give One” program, which will run May 30 through June 30 (while supplies last). For each clothing item purchased, customers can select an additional clothing item to be donated to a partnered nonprofit. “We are grateful to have the opportunity together with our customers to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others in our community. These donated items will be distributed to organizations close to our hearts, including domestic violence shelters, recovery centers and foster organizations,” Koffman says. Those wishing to bring in additional items to donate can do so during regular business hours.
Beginning in August, you will have the chance to support other small businesses by shopping local vendors at Discover Mercantile. In an innovative concept, vendors and makers can rent a clothing rack booth or shelf space to resell pre-loved items, jewelry, gifts, and more. Located in a prime, high-traffic area, the Discover Mercantile offers flexible options to fit vendors’ needs, allowing them to display and sell their way. This opportunity provides a supportive environment where vendors benefit from the store’s marketing efforts, getting their unique creations in front of potential buyers at an affordable price. Spaces are limited, so interested vendors should secure their spots (which start in August), by emailing [email protected] or calling 602-492-4797.

With newly extended store hours, Discover Mercantile is now open Thursdays and Fridays from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m., as well as Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Follow them on Instagram and Facebook @DiscoverMercantile for updates and to join in spreading kindness this summer.
