The City of Peoria’s newest community park, Paloma Community Park, won the 2021 Outstanding Facility Award from the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association (APRA).

Out of more than 90 nominees throughout the state, Paloma Community Park was selected as the winning facility in cities of 100,000 people or more.

Paloma Community Park opened on October 3, 2020. Like Rio Vista and Pioneer Parks, the park provides a broad range of active and passive recreational activities to the entire community. At 85 acres in size, Paloma can accommodate large numbers of people while maintaining social distancing and draws residents from throughout the community to enjoy its many amenities. It is located at Lake Pleasant Parkway and Dixileta Drive, just south of Loop 303 freeway.

APRA, who honored the park with the award, was founded in 1950 as a member-based, professional, nonprofit organization. The organization’s mission is to connect, educate and inspire all who enhance the quality of life through the profession of parks, recreation, and the protection of natural resources.
