HI, MY NAME IS… Jaime Spinato.
I’VE LIVED IN SCOTTSDALE FOR 35 YEARS AND I LOVE IT BECAUSE… the weather is beautiful. I have grown to love the desert. Moving here from Illinois, I didn’t think we had four seasons. It is not like the four seasons we had in Chicago, but we do have seasons within the desert. Spring is my favorite. I love the way the desert looks during this time of year.
A TYPICAL DAY IN MY LIFE INCLUDES… coffee. Always. My mornings are fast and furious but will include time with my husband drinking coffee and catching up. Then I pack school lunches, kiss the kids, and get ready for work.
MY FAMILY IS… our two daughters and my best friend and husband, Anthony.
ONE THING I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IS… coffee.
MY FAVORITE MOVIE I COULD NEVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING AND WHY… “Home Alone I and II.” It never gets old to watch these movies over Christmas. It brings back happy memories of my brother and me.
WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I WANTED TO BE… a veterinarian.
THE SONG I WOULD SING AT KARAOKE NIGHT IS… “Fugees: Killing me Softly.” I don’t sing it well but I will sing it nevertheless.
THE ONE PERSON WHO MOTIVATES ME IS… my husband.
THE LAST THING THAT MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD WAS… my kids make me laugh daily. It’s the same with my husband.
THE PERFECT DAY IS… spending time in my garden and cooking a delicious meal.
MY FAVORITE LOCAL NONPROFIT IS… I work in community outreach so it’s hard to pick a favorite: Ryan House, A New Leaf, Magicians on Mission, Dogs 4 Vets, Military Assistance Mission, Alice Cooper Solid Rock Teen Centers, and St. Vincent de Paul. There are so many wonderful nonprofits!
MY LIFE IS… a blessing.
THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED WAS… salvation.
MY DREAM VACATION WOULD BE… to visit Italy.
THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED IS… never be a prisoner of your past. It was just a lesson, not a life sentence.
