HI, MY NAME IS… Tyson Weed.

I’VE LIVED IN TEMPE FOR 10 YEARS AND I LOVE IT BECAUSE… of the city’s vibrant and diverse community, which constantly inspires artists and connects us with amazing individuals from all walks of life.

A TYPICAL DAY IN MY LIFE INCLUDES… starting my day with a workout before heading to Sentient Tattoo Collective to work with a client on a tattoo, usually a large-scale Asian-inspired piece. After work, I usually have a home cooked dinner with my wife and our two dogs. I typically spend the evening preparing for the next day’s appointments.

MY FAMILY IS… huge. I am the oldest of nine. My immediate family is my wife and two dogs. And of course, my tattoo community family.

ONE THING I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IS… my mountain bike and the outdoors.

MY FAVORITE MOVIE I COULD NEVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING AND WHY IS… “The Big Lebowski.” It’s timeless, and the rug really tied the room together.

WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I WANTED TO BE… a firefighter. My younger brother wanted to be a comic book artist. Somewhere along the way we swapped and now I am an artist and he became a firefighter!

THE SONG I WOULD SING AT KARAOKE NIGHT IS… none, I do not do karaoke! But if I did, and the machine had it, I would attempt “No Good, Mr. Holden” by Graveyard.

THE ONE PERSON WHO MOTIVATES ME IS… the other tattoo artists at Sentient Tattoo. Being around talented artists always motivates and inspires me.

THE LAST THING THAT MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD WAS… probably a dog video. I love animals!

THE PERFECT DAY IS… sleeping in, then going for a mountain bike ride at Hawes. Back at home, I’d spend the afternoon painting or sculpting, followed by a relaxing evening enjoying a homemade meal with a cold beer.
MY FAVORITE LOCAL NONPROFIT IS… Lost Our Home Pet Rescue in Tempe.

MY LIFE IS… fulfilled. Each day I get to create art and connect with others who appreciate art.

THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED WAS… the company of my loving wife!

THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED IS… when someone shows you who they are, believe them.
