Hi, my name is… Kim Post.
I’ve lived in North Scottsdale for nearly seven years, and I love it because… The desert is beautiful, and we are blessed with so many options for hiking or bike riding. I have lived in the Valley for 31 years total, and almost seven of those in North Scottsdale. We live in a small neighborhood of about 11 homes. Our neighbors are great; it is a very tight-knit community.

A typical day in my life includes… In the morning, I’m rising early, riding my bike, seeing the sunrise, or walking through my garden to see what is ready to harvest. At work, I’m the Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of HonorHealth, where I started as a nurse over 30 years ago. On weekends we love all the restaurants in our area and options for boutique shopping.
My family… I have been married to a wonderful man for 38 years. I met him when I was a senior in high school. We have three grown children, two who live in Scottsdale, and one who lives in Texas. We also have three beautiful grandchildren and a very spoiled dog named Jules.

One thing I cannot live without is… Travel. My husband and I have been lucky enough to travel all over the world, but since the pandemic, that has been drastically curtailed. We do have an RV and have enjoyed seeing much of Arizona and surrounding areas. We live in such a beautiful state.

When I was younger, I wanted to be… A nurse—and that’s what I became! This is a wonderful profession filled with compassionate people who are dedicated to caring for people in need.

The one person who motivates me is… My husband. He has known me for 40 years and he sees through any insecurity, fear, and hesitation. He calls out my ability, gives examples of when things have worked out, and motivates me to make a difference. Most importantly, he supports me in all my endeavors.

The last thing that made me laugh out loud was… My kids make me laugh when they talk about things they deal with as new parents.

The perfect day would be… Watching the sunrise with my husband and my dog somewhere in our RV in the forest. Then, we’d have a peaceful hike or bike ride, and as the sun starts to set, we’d settle in with a good bottle of wine and enjoy the quiet.

My favorite local organization is… HonorHealth. I have worked for this company for 31 years and have enjoyed making an impact on care for our community. I think it is a wonderful place to work and we give back in so many ways. The people are amazing, and I am so proud of the support we give for our community, especially during the pandemic.

As an HonorHealth leader, my other favorite organization is the American Heart Association. I serve as the community volunteer chair of the 2021-2022 Greater Phoenix area Go Red for Women Movement. I am chairing in partnership with my daughter. I’m so proud that we are able to make an impact at this level.

My life is… Amazing. We love our home, neighborhood, and community. We are so fortunate to be surrounded by such beauty and have most of our family so close.

The best gift I’ve ever received was… My husband threw a surprise birthday party for me on my 50th birthday. I had just finished my dissertation for my doctorate the day before and was feeling such relief. He flew in my two best friends as a surprise and spoiled us all weekend. All of my kids were able to be there as well.

The best piece of advice I’ve ever received… My dad told me to, “Remember where you came from.” This should make sure you stay connected with your purpose, remember the voices of whom you impacted, and never minimize the importance of the people who you met along the way. Friends, neighbors, and family are all part of who you are—always hold them close.
