Benevilla opened Birt’s Café in August inside the Benefitness Adaptive Gym, their latest program designed to meet a vital community need. Birt’s Café provides freshly made grab-and-go options promoting health and vitality.

“At Birt’s Café, we are all about wholesome, nutritious, organic, and healthy food. Food is our fuel source, our nourishment, and the cornerstone of good health,” says Birt’s Café Manager, Monica Gonzalez. “Many of our ingredients are locally sourced and everything is made to order fresh and quick.”

Expect a menu full of scrumptious salads (like cranberry chicken salad) and delicious wraps, parfaits, oatmeal, and a line-up of smoothies.

Community-oriented Birt’s Café is open to the public serving Surprise and the surrounding communities. “We love preparing healthy food and food you can feel good about. You can dine-in or take-out.” says Benevilla Director of Benefitness Lorrie Karn. “So, whether you’re a regular member of our adaptive gym, just looking for a healthy way to spend a morning, or want to stop in for a nutritious salad, wrap or smoothie on the run, let us prove healthy can taste really good!”
Birt’s Café is the perfect complement to the unique adaptive gym and the “Caregiver Retreat,” a unique respite and relaxation space with massage chairs, aromatherapy, a water feature, and a conversation area. Caregivers can relax, have a bite, and enjoy a little “me time” while their loved one works out and improves their strength and wellbeing.

The Benefitness Adaptive Gym provides specialized individual and group fitness instruction to a community of adults with differing abilities and special physical considerations. This includes those with early onset diagnoses (e.g., Parkinson’s, dementia, MS, and more) looking to improve physical performance, mental acuity, strength, balance, and overall wellbeing.

Members will be mindfully guided to work out at their own ability level, yet coached to gain strength, mobility, and quality of life. Benefitness is the perfect gym for those who are just beginning their fitness journey, recovering from an illness or injury, or having a progressive diagnosis. Benefitness has carefully selected equipment and class programming adaptive to individuals needing exceptional care.

Benefitness Adaptive Gym is located at 16752 N. Greasewood St., Surprise. For more information, visit or call 623-584-0065.
