Emphasizing the importance of active lifestyles, the Paradise Valley School District (PVSchools) is hosting its 14th Annual Community 5K Fun Run on Saturday, Feb. 3, at Horizon High School. This event, open to staff, families, and community members, aims to foster community spirit and promote physical well-being.

Participants of all ages can compete in various age divisions. Both male and female top finishers in each group will be awarded, with the presentation of trophies taking place after the race. Additionally, team awards will spotlight the collective spirit of schools and departments participating.

Registration is open until the event day, with a special incentive for early birds. Those who register by January 5, will receive a commemorative t-shirt. Registration is categorized into three groups, with adults paying $10, children aged 11 to 19 paying $5, and children 10 and under participating for free.

The event schedule is packed with activities. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by a welcome address from Superintendent Dr. Troy Bales. A Kids Dash for children 10 and under will kick off the day’s races, followed by the main event at 9:05 a.m. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 10:05 a.m., celebrating the achievements of participants.
Funding for the event comes from registration fees and generous donations from benefit vendors. Notably, PVSchools has maintained the registration fee at the same rate for the past 13 years, making it an affordable event for the entire community.

Whether running, walking, or cheering, everyone in the community is invited to join in this annual tradition of fitness and fun.
