Join Theater Works in August for the free folk and bluegrass mini-series, August Acoustics. Performances are held on Tuesday nights at the Peoria Center for Performing Arts, located at 10580 N. 83rd Dr.

Enjoy small and intimate performances of acoustic tunes played by a talented lineup of local folk and bluegrass artists from Arizona to California on Aug. 16, 23, 30. Grab a beer or glass of wine and some light snacks from the PCPA concessions and settle in for an entertaining evening of musical storytelling. In addition to concessions, a specialty dessert vendor offering homemade treats will be available for purchase at each event.

For the last decade, Matt and Rebekah Rolland, the acoustic duo RISO, have been on the road with their nationally acclaimed Americana band, Run Boy Run, participated as artists-in-residence for the National Parks Centennial, and collaborated on seven studio albums. RISO is rooted in the acoustic soundscapes of their respective childhoods and elevated by sharp and complementary musical instincts.
