The Covenant offers an upscale, modern dining experience that is largely missing from Paradise Valley — complete with a great brunch and happy hour that makes it a destination for groups, date nights and family meals.

The atmosphere is fun, unique and high-end, complete with a yellow door welcoming guests, an impressive central bar, several chandeliers, electric blue leather tufted chairs, a floor to ceiling wine case and murals on the wall.

The menu is equally eclectic with offerings like charred octopus, chorizo cheese dip, and the Chef’s Cheddar Mac complete with andouille sausage and tiger shrimp — all crafted with high-quality organic and locally sourced ingredients.

For lunch and dinner, diners can look forward to a varied list of starters including modern favorites like charcuterie boards and goat cheese bruschetta as well as less mainstream items such as a hummus board and poke tuna.

The menu also offers five different salad options including a feta & melon salad as well as the kale rustic, each with the option of add-ons including lemon-thyme pulled chicken, pepper-crusted ahi tuna, hanger steak, tiger prawns, seared scallops or salmon.

Main courses range from the nostalgic (think grilled cheese melt and half roasted chicken), to the creative (try the chorizo burger), to light, healthier options such as cioppino, pan seared scallops and cedar plank salmon.

The Covenant also serves as a wine haven, with over 50 selections to choose from available by the glass or bottle. Spirit enthusiasts can also enjoy a lineup of ten creative cocktails, like the Handshake Deal crafted with Arette reposado tequila, ginger liqueur, lemon juice and peach. Beer drinkers won’t be disappointed either, as The Covenant provides five beers from Arizona breweries including lagers, ales, IPAs and a seasonal selection.

During happy hour — which takes place Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., guests can look forward to $9 poke bowls, $12 mini pretzel sliders or a $12 sea stack complete with scallops, beets and honey-thyme goat cheese, to name a few. For drinks, The Covenant offers $7 wines, $6 cocktails including the #French75 or Arcadia Cosmopolitan, $5 beers, and half off bottles of wine with a main course order.

For weekend brunch, diners can skip the orange juice and head straight for the $15 unlimited champagne paired with trendy breakfast favorites like the Mexican breakfast burrito, avocado toast and biscuits with chorizo gravy as well as all-day house specialties like the braised beef ravioli and chicken romesco sandwich. For those opting out of a boozy brunch, The Covenant provides inventive coffee selections as well such as the salted caramel latte and lavender mocha.
