The Madison Center for the Arts is welcoming the acclaimed family production of “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” set to run from August 26 to October 8. It will also serve as the kickoff performance for the theater’s 2023-2024 Broadway season.

Children and families can experience Eric Carle’s imagined stories come to life at this event featuring enchanting puppets and special audience participation elements. In addition to “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” audiences can travel the world with “10 Little Rubber Ducks” and help “The Very Lonely Firefly” find the friends he’s searching for. They can also spend time with the colorful friends of “Brown Bear, Brown Bear.” Plus, aVIP attendees will have the opportunity of taking a photo with The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

The show has performed over 2,000 shows worldwide including in Australia, New Zealand, China, Singapore, Dubai, Belgium, United Kingdom, Canada, Luxemburg, Netherlands, and New York City.
“After bringing the show across the globe, we are thrilled to perform the ‘Hungry Caterpillar’ in Phoenix at The Madison Center for the Arts,” says Rockefeller. “There is something so very special about Eric Carle’s work that allows so many children to experience the magic of theatre for the very first time – with a character they love.”

The show features 75 magical puppets designed and built by Rockefeller Studios, and music by longtime Rockefeller collaborator Nate Edmondson.

“The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a can’t miss experience for families,” says Ari Levin, executive director of the Madison Center for the Arts. “We are excited for the imaginative stories of Eric Carle’s classic adventures to transform our stage and help transport children into the world of a caterpillar.”

Performances for “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” will run Fridays through Sundays starting on Aug. 26 and ending on Oct. 8. Ticket prices range from $15 to $55 and can be purchased at themadison.org.
