In 2019, Thompson Thrift Retail Group (TTRG) broke ground on the commercial portion of an 18.75-acre, mixed-use development located just south of the southeast corner of Lake Pleasant and Happy Valley Road to create Sunrise Promenade. The popular area of the city is also known as Peoria’s “Four Corners.”

Since then, many retailers have opened in the area, including: Black Rock Coffee, Sherwin Williams, Club Pilates, Jabz Boxing, and Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade. A highly anticipated Aldi grocery store is in the works but no official opening date is set, according to an Aldi spokesperson.

Donut lovers will delight though because BoSa Donuts recently announced that it will be going into the Four Corners shopping area in spring 2021. It will be located next to Cafe Rio.

Other Sunrise Promenade/Four Corners tenants with plans to open in 2021 include: Banfield Pet Hospital, Bennigan’s On The Fly at Sunrise Promenade, Boss Lady Salon, Chick-Fil-A, Dip Nails, Five Below, Pacific Dental, Pearle Vision, Sharkey’s Kids Cuts, Tom Yum, Twin Tails Cageless Grooming, and YogaSix.

“We have been working diligently with the City of Peoria and surrounding community to create a first-class retail project that includes a blend of local, regional and national retailers and restaurants,” says Chris Hake, senior vice president, director southwest region for TTRG.

“Thompson Thrift Retail Group is a team of experienced real estate development and leasing professionals, and we make great efforts to include community input in our projects to ensure a positive impact in the communities we develop projects within,” according to the company.
