The Ridgeline Academy Drama Club (RAD Club) is set to stage its latest production, “High School Musical, Jr.,” from February 15 to 17. This performance marks the ninth year of RAD Club’s involvement in junior-length musical productions under the guidance of Melissa Davis.

“High School Musical, Jr.” is an adaptation of the popular Disney channel original movie. Set at East High, it follows the story of Troy, the basketball team captain, and Gabriella, a brainy newcomer, who shake up their school’s social dynamics by auditioning for the high school musical. This decision challenges the status quo and paves the way for others to explore their talents and interests beyond traditional cliques.

RAD Club, an extracurricular performing arts group at Ridgeline Academy, is known for its dynamic and engaging productions. The club produces two-to-three junior-length musicals each year, offering students a platform to hone their acting, singing, and dancing skills. In addition to these productions, RAD Club also organizes a two-week summer camp that culminates in a kids or junior-length production.

The schedule for “High School Musical, Jr.” is as follows:
• Opening Night: Thursday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m.
• School Performance at K-6 Campus: Friday, Feb. 16 at 9 a.m.
• Friday Night Performance: Friday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.
• Closing Performance: Saturday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m.

The show offers an excellent opportunity for the Phoenix community to support young talent and enjoy a family-friendly theatrical experience. Tickets for the performances are available online at music.ridgelineacademy.org/tickets.
